  • Grey Cup Events Festivals Winners Celebration Announced

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have some extra hardware during practice tomorrow , after members from the Grey cup-winning team were presented with their championship rings during an event on Saturday night.

In December The Blue Bombers became the first CFL 2022 Live Stream team since the 2010 Montreal Alouettes to repeat as Grey Cup champions, defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in overtime with the score of 33-25, at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

Winnipeg was trailing the Tiger-Cats 22-10 at the end of the fourth quarter, but they scored 15 points without a response. A 13-yard field goal by Hamilton brought the game into overtime and the quarterback Zach Collaros threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Darvin Adams on Winnipeg’s opening game in the extra period which was followed by a 2-point score with Rasheed Bailey.

According to the maker, Canadian jeweller Baron Championship Rings Two-toned diamond-studded piece is an amazing story-driven piece that highlights key aspects of the team’s journey towards the final Grey Cup’s 108th Grey Cup.

The famous W in diamonds is situated over the Historic Trophy silhouette and is protected with the Grey Cup Champions wordmark in yellow gold. The bottom part on the Grey Cup Trophy has 33 round diamonds that represent what will be the score at the end of the Championship game.

The rings, which celebrate the team’s overtime victory of 33-25 against Hamilton Tiger-Cats Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 108th Grey Cup, were unveiled in a private ceremony held in IG Field on the night of Saturday.

One of the rings has an etching of real photos taken by people during 2021’s season of IG Field.

The left shoulder is a tribute in honor of “Home of the Loudest Fans” by featuring Bombers fanatics celebrating the team’s success framed by the season and IG Field.

Right shoulder held by the numbers of players in diamonds as well as their location and is highlighted with the background of the football field.

The part of the face has been covered with blue sapphire stones which are complemented by Blue Bombers and Back-To-Back wordmarks in yellow gold.

Strategically put above the wrapping 108 and Winnipeg to pay tribute for The Grey Cup and winning city.

The rings also have the Bombers “W” logo at the top of a picture that depicts the Grey Cup and the bottom section is decorated with 33 diamonds that mark the amount of points that the teams scored during the championship game.

The outer edges on the rings is the phrase “Back-to-Back to honor of the team that won the Grey Cup in both 2019 and 2021.

“It almost made me break down and cry,” huge offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick told bluebombers.com.

The rings were made through Baron Championship Rings, the same company who designed the team’s rings in the year 2019. A design committee, that comprised Bombers members Nic Demski Adam Bighill and Willie Jefferson along with Team content coordinator Rheanne Marcoux, was involved in the development of the rings.

  • CFL 2022 futures betting 109th Grey Cup odds

The 2022 Canadian Football League season is approaching and now that there are a huge number of regulated online sportsbooks in Ontario, the expectation is that more futures bets will be placed on the CFL than ever before. One of the teams sure to see the most action? You guessed it, the defending champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

It should come as no surprise that the odds-on favorite to win the 109th Grey Cup is Winnipeg, which goes for a three-peat after winning in 2019 and again in 2021 (the season was cancelled in 2020).

Winnipeg may have lost a couple of pieces but have returned plenty of talent from last year’s championship team and made several new financial commitments that have led it to spend more money than any other team in the CFL.

But does high spending and low odds mean you should be placing a futures bet on the Bombers before Week 1?

Not too long ago, 3DownNation analyzed the CFL salary cap situation for each team. Unsurprisingly, the defending champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers are investing heavily into their stellar personnel, many of which were in line for raises this offseason, as the team attempts to win a third consecutive Grey Cup.

The Bombers are currently expected to spend a total of approximately $5.3 million in player salaries for the 2022 season. It would be the highest amongst the league’s nine clubs, and that’s even with Winnipeg allowing running back Andrew Harris and receiver Kenny Lawler to depart in free agency.

After all, the Bombers are home to the CFL’s single highest-paid player, that being three-time Grey Cup champ (twice with Winnipeg) Zach Collaros.

While Collaros does claim the biggest piece of the Bombers’ salary cap pie ($550,000 in 2022), most would argue it’s warranted and that the 33-year-old quarterback gives Winnipeg the best chance for another Grey Cup, especially now that Harris is elsewhere.

Winnipeg also handed out raises to keep several other top-end players and is financially committed at nearly every position on the depth chart going into the 2022 season. But should you bet on that spending translating into another championship?
